For a Discursive Diplomacy of Technique

The objective of this article is to analyze modern technique as a mode of existence that occurs in a network in the coalition between nature (object), knowledge (subject) and politics (discourse), highlighting it as a crucial dimension of the civilizing challenges of global society. From the perspective of the relational ontology of the actor-network theory, we ask the following question: how shall we modify the form of mediation between subject/object in order to face the civilizational challenges of our time? In this way, we argue that, given our socio-technical conditions, if we really want to civilize the planet, it is on the exercise of learning to talk that we need to concentrate research efforts, as a challenge especially given to the human sciences.
