This article aims to show how the pleasure of reading is seen by the students of the 3rd grade and how this reading is worked in classrooms and school domains by the teacher. As part of the planned activities of the research, data collection was carried out, which enabled us to make an analysis of the relation between reading and pleasure with the participants. The data collection took place at three public schools in a midsize city in northern Paraná, with 8 to 10 year-old pupils and their teachers, by means of questionnaires and observation. Results showed to be satisfactory in relation to the number of pupils that are readers, but it does not disregard the necessity of intensifying ways that stimulate students to read for pleasure and not as an obligation, leading them to a critical understanding of what they read.Downloads
