Abstract

The hands generated in the algorithmic images of Igi Lola Ayedun (2023), in the artwork named "Há muito venho sonhando com imagens que nunca vi", are the object of aesthetic experience that triggers this article. Based on Didi-Huberman's thoughts on emotion and Susan Sontag's in Against Interpretation, we seek to investigate the feeling of strangeness and discomfort that these images provoke in us, we also reflect on the status of reality that
the technical image questions in our imagination. This essay on hands and images of hands is permeated by reflections on hand's role with Juhani Pallasmaa, on error and statute truth with Edgar Morin, Vilém Flusser and the technical image, as well as the notion of image as a relationship, based on the thoughts of Marie- José Mondzain.
