Environmental education is a multidisciplinary theme, and the development of research activities is an important practical approach in the school environment. In this sense, the present study sought to evaluate the floristic composition present at the 7th Military Police College of Paraná, located in União da Vitória. The entire area of the College was surveyed, noting all the tree species present on the site. All species were identified using specific literature, grouped into their respective families, and classified according to their origin (native and exotic). A total of 76 tree individuals were identified, distributed among 28 species and 14 botanical families. This number can be considered high compared to other similar studies. Of the total species, 57.14% are fruit-bearing plants and 54.6% are exotic. Considering that most of the species were planted, this result is perfectly expected, since these plants are more common and available for purchase as seedlings. Only one species is considered potentially toxic (Melia azedarach, the cinamomo). Myrtaceae was the richest and most abundant family, justified both by the large number of fruit-bearing species and by being a common family in the region. The jerivá palm (Syagrus romanzoffiana) was the most abundant species, representing almost 19% of the total individuals. Finally, the identification of tree species showed good results, which can serve as a basis for future projects involving Botany and Environmental Education.
