Abstract

History shows us that the advancement of technology and the educational process have been changing over time and it is a fact that English language teaching together with technology has been gaining more space in the school environment. This article aims to analyze the relevance and use of technologies as pedagogical resources in English language classes by teachers. Based on this objective, we analyzed some aspects such as how technologies are used and the role of the teacher in this perspective. To achieve this objective, we describe in this article an exploratory approach, being a descriptive research, whose method used for data collection was bibliographical research and also the data collection instrument for conducting interviews with some teachers. From the research and interviews carried out, it was possible to understand that digital technologies can enhance the learning of the English language, facilitating more dynamic and interactive learning, thus developing the communicative skills and abilities present in English: speaking, listening, writing and reading. Subsequently, this article also shows the methods used and the results on pedagogical practices and the proper preparation of teachers for the use of digital resources, thus making a parallel between teaching and meaningful learning.
