Digital Asset Guidelines
In order to ensure the quality, standardization, and accessibility of visual representations and other digital resources published, the Revista Educação em Análise establishes specific guidelines for the presentation and submission of digital assets in publications. Manuscripts may include: images, photographs, tables, charts, graphs, figures, illustrations, maps, diagrams, organizational charts, videos, and audios. In order to guarantee the clarity and quality of digital assets, authors must follow the following technical specifications:
1. Technical Specifications
Figures, images, and photographs:
Accepted formats: JPEG or PNG.
Minimum resolution: 300 DPI.
Maximum file size: 5 MB.
Recommended minimum width: 1,200 pixels.
They must be inserted into the body of the text, never at the end of the manuscript.
Tables, charts, and graphs:
Preferred format: editable (Excel, Word, or equivalent).
If provided as an image: high resolution, preferably in PDF or SVG format for vector graphics, with 600 DPI.
Maximum file size: 5 MB.
They must be inserted into the body of the text, never at the end of the manuscript.
Maps, diagrams, and organizational charts:
Preferred format: vector (PDF or SVG).
Minimum resolution: 600 DPI.
They must be inserted into the body of the text.
Multimedia content:
Videos: MP4 format, maximum size of 20 MB, with subtitles.
Audios: MP3 format, maximum size of 20 MB, with transcription or a brief description.
They must include time and position indicators in the article.
2. Tracking of Digital Assets
All digital assets must contain:
Numbering:
Sequentially numbered by type (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1), in bold, aligned to the left, Times New Roman font, size 12 pts.
Title:
Aligned to the left, Times New Roman font, size 12 pts.
Caption:
Located below the asset.
Source:
Located below the asset.
The term "Source" must be used, written in bold, followed by a colon and the appropriate reference (e.g., Surname, year, page).
Times New Roman font, size 10 pts, centered alignment.
For own assets: use "Collection of the author(s)."
For adaptations: use the expression "Adapted from Surname (year, p. xx)."
3. Color Specifications
Color images must be in RGB mode for digital publication.
Black and white images must be in grayscale, with sufficient contrast to ensure legibility.
4. Copyright and Licensing
It is the responsibility of the authors to obtain permissions for the use of third-party digital assets, citing the sources appropriately.
When applicable, information regarding the licensing of the assets must be included.
5. Compliance and Quality
Authors must ensure that all digital assets submitted meet the journal's specifications at the time of submission. The Editorial Board of Revista Educação em Análise reserves the right to request adjustments to digital assets in order to ensure compliance with the quality and formatting standards of the journal.
